ULA-COC Hosts First Annual Town Hall in Little Tokyo, November 13, 6-8 pm
The Citizen Oversight Committee (COC) of the United to House Los Angeles (ULA) Measure is excited to host our first annual Town Hall at the Terasaki Budokan Center in Little Tokyo! Register here.
Voted in by Los Angeles City residents in 2022, Measure ULA (Ordinance No. 187692) funds 11 programs aimed at producing and preserving affordable housing and protecting tenants. As of August 15th, 2024, these 11 programs are complete and are awaiting approval by the Los Angeles City Council. Measure ULA states that "[T]o promote transparency and accountability, the Oversight Committee shall hold an annual town hall to report on the progress and shortcomings of the House LA Fund-Programs and hear from the public."
At the Town Hall, we will host a brief panel discussion with members of the UHLA Coalition that wrote the Measure, COC members, affordable housing production experts, and residents who have utilized ULA services. Following the panel, attendees can expect to engage in small group discussions about Measure ULA, share feedback about the programs with representatives from the City and COC, and engage each other in discussions about the state of housing in Los Angeles.
We encourage taking public transportation to the event or carpooling when possible. The venue is located in Little Tokyo, off of the Metro A line and Metro E line's Little Tokyo/Arts District or Historic Broadway stops. The venue is also served by Metro bus routes 16/18 and 20/720. There is paid parking at the garage under the event venue. There is also paid street parking available.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
